Missing Matchset Mystery [Closed]
WHO: Detective Llewellyn & Enis Edrin.
WHEN: July 14th.
WHERE: Llewellyn's detective agency & the Merchant Dome.
WHAT: The pair team up as an unlikely duo and solve a mystery.
WARNINGS: Crime, will update as needed.
Enis didn't really know what to expect when she showed up at Llewellyn's office but it wasn't this. Mostly because it was kind of small and a bit like a hole in the wall. That was a little bit of an exaggeration but still, it surprised her.
It was her understanding that he worked alone, so when she walked up to the door she knocked and then opened it to step inside. It was an open office for his clients. So it was probably okay.
"Detective? You in?" She'd told him that she was going to be stopping by.

The detective adapted well enough to the futuristic changes around him, he was used to having everything he knew being upheaved by some form of chaos or other, and so he tried his best to catch up on more modern advancements that were common upon arrival. So it wasn’t strange that people forgot that he was from the 1900s, especially considering some of the strange things that shouldn’t exist during that era in his own world. Admittedly, he was only just realizing that it extended to how he did his job as well though. “That sounds very useful... Do you have anything I can um— read or look over to try to learn how that all works? Seems that there are still a few things I need to catch up on.” Not that he properly understands some stuff, science and invention isn’t really his forte. Murdoch was the science and forensics guy, he was the more about the mind and for lack of a better term ‘heart’ of the perpetrator.
He looked up with raised rows at the idea that Murdoch was his partner though, a small smile on his face as he shook his head. “Mm... We work together sometimes, usually just to lend a hand on a case that’s too big for one person. I owe him a lot, I was uh... let go because of disagreements where I worked first and he allowed me to work out of his station. I’m more of a spare part around the station to be honest, usually there’s only one detective per station house.”
More him helping Murdoch than the other way around, Llewellyn had a hard time asking for assistance. George was his friend, but more often Murdoch’s actual partner, “I did have someone close to a partner once... Constable Jackson. A stout, earnest fellow. Sharp of wit and mind.” He mumbled with a little shrug, there’s a small amount of hurt in the back of his expression, Jackson was unfortunately dead.

She stepped next to Llewellyn and lightly tapped his shoulder in a way that she'd once seen on TV. "Until you're caught up, I can be your part-time partner. At least from time to time." It would be a nice change in pace from the shop.

The detective was a little surprised when she tapped his shoulder lightly, before a familiar little smile slipped into place. He definitely appreciated the gesture, it was almost an oddly approving one he occasionally had been granted back home. “Thank you? I look forward to working with you— when you have time, of course. You’re already more agreeable than some people I’ve worked with.” He paused for a moment, before adding, “Maybe we’ll even solve one of the first real cases I’ve seen come through together?”

"Anyway, let's check this out. I'm free for the rest of the day and this seems interesting. Let's just swing by the shop and I'll pick up some stuff that I can show you how to use. I'll have to probably take some time to make you something super useful but for right now, I have a few things." It was exciting to start yet another project. Not the making repairs wasn't 'fun' but it was usually very tedious work. It was only her inventions that brought her enjoyment, even when she fucked up and got frustrated at them.
"Sound good?"

“I think that does sound good. I think your shop is uh— a little closer than the crime scene anyway.” He responded with a smile, folding the paper up and tucking it in a pocket before he went searching for his hat. It was currently sitting on top of a lamp, before he snagged and popped it on his head.
He does take a moment to get Pretzel settled, making sure there was fresh water near the smallish pillow he’d been using for a bed for now. Normally he’d bring the dog with him, but this actually seemed like it might be a proper case compared to the other things he’d been called on for.
Putting a sign up at the door, he turned to Enis with a nod, “We should be set to go. I’ll mm... let you lead where we’re going to the shop first.”

"Sure. Let's go." Enis shoved her hands into her pockets and began to walk towards the exit, pausing only long enough to make sure that the puppy was settled and taken care of.
The way to the shop wasn't too far. Everything in the merchant domes were fairly close together. "I'll be quick. Wait out here." After about twenty minutes, Enis reappeared with a black torn backpack filled with things that may or may not assist them.

Llewellyn followed Enis to the shop after that, leaning against the side of the building with his shoulder as though he were holding it up for most of the duration of her disappearance inside. He was in detective brain mode, thinking about the few scant details of the case and looking forward to getting to the crime scene. The detective didn’t like that there were crimes to investigate, but he did like to feel useful. It was important for him to have thing to do, matters to turn his mind over on in place of thinking about things he’d rather not.
When she returned, he pulled away from the building with a nod. “Wow, you uh— have a lot of things.” He commented as they started walking again, brows raised curiously as he looked at the bag. Llewellyn couldn’t guess what was in the bag, but he couldn’t help but wonder over it. There was just so much that he didn’t know now, so much to catch up on and learn that he hadn’t even considered before.

Enis was excited to develop tech for him. It meant that her weapon's and armour protects would be tossed onto the back burner but she was fine with that.
"So I got something that can possibly date blood by its state of oxidation. I also have some tools that can map out a room and then the sensor's. I don't know what will actually work so I have a few." She shrugged. "I'm sure something will work."

He leads on as suggested, moving away from the shop and down the road towards some of the other inhabited domes used by the older residents. Those who had been here before the rest, as he thought of them. Mapping out the room would be helpful? Murdoch usually builds these mm... crime scene models in his office if there’s more than one room involved. It’s good to be able to reference when not at the scene? So, that might be quite helpful.”
no subject
He's been here before and can likely gain access without Enis having to utter a word and she really didn't like talking to people.
"Anything else you think could be helpful? I can see if I can make something to assist." It was a good brainstorming exercise as they walked.
no subject
“Hmmm...” Llewellyn was thinking about the idea that anything else might be helpful. He wasn’t entirely sure how much was possible as far as technology was concerned, but he was eager to find out. Of course, there was one thing he was rather fond of that he had yet to seek out himself. It... seemed a little simple compared to her other inventions, but the detective would probably value help with this particular issue quite a bit. “I’ve seen these mm... things people use to record their voices? Alex has something like that. I uh— I take a lot of notes, and I was thinking it might be helpful?”
He scuffs a food, glancing ahead thoughtfully as they moved from one area to another, “I have uh— issues sometimes with remembering things—” An understatement, but he wasn’t about to try to explain that until it became pertinent or someone called him out on it. “And as you might have noticed... I tend to be disorganized.”
