A New Year A New You
Ghosts.
John warned people. She told them not to interact with the ghosts. Persephone warned people. She told them that some of them weren’t ghosts at all. But no one listened. And after three months whatever tenuous hold the Sphere had upon those ghosts have been broken. The ghosts are here, and they are hungry. They’re hungry for life, for knowledge, to give people knowledge and of course to make certain that the Sphere becomes a city of the dead like them.

For the most part, the ghosts are feral, even the ones that have been fine before as they slipped in and out of being around and not. But they are not all ghosts of people. No, they are the ghosts of everything that has had a body that has died in the Sphere: sirens, skeletons, androids, people. How much less intelligent they were determines how feral and animal like the ghosts have become and how violent their attacks will be. For example: the most violent ghosts are the sirens, following that are the skeletons, following that the ghosts of NPCs with ghost of player characters lasting the longest.

Other than Annie I mean. She has a special part to play later.

Ghosts are drawn to single parties, or to small groups of them, the life the people offer like a beacon in the blackness of their minds. Their attacks aren’t coordinated—more often than not they’re simply striking out with energy claws and attempting to drain the life out of people. At first fighting them off is relatively easy to do, like a nightmare it’s simply getting away. But as people start to congregate into groups the attacks become larger, more powerful and more dangerous.

It is during this time that weapons will be come apparent: salt of course, placed in a circle around people, anything silver, and people of faith will also be protected. What that faith in is up to you, however.

your character dies as a result of this attack, they will be considered a ghost for the rest of the plot with all that comes with it, including attacking others. If you wish your character to die consider the timing in that. Automatic saving from death is suspended during this plot, but if your character dies they lose any powers they have.

However, there will be some ghosts who will want to talk to your characters. They will want to answer questions for them. Those will be placed in a separate NPC tag below. This is where Annie comes in, so if characters have issues with her, that may be an important thing to consider. Because Annie will remember.

In a desperate attempt to stop the attacks and the Sphere itself, the giant golden glowball will try something dangerous. It’s going to attempt to reset people using their memories. However this is going to backfire badly. Instead it will cause dead characters from people’s past to show up for the last day of the plot only January 28th. No dead characters from the persons home world may appear before then and they will disappear on January 29th. Please keep in mind these will be feral ghosts and not actually the characters themselves and they should be treated as such.

On January 29th at midnight, the Sphere will do something even more desperate: it will kill everyone within the Sphere which means everyone wakes up in their domes in the sunken bed on the floor. There is no penalty involved in this death, no memory loss or anything like that and everyone within the Sphere will be reset and the ghosts will be absent.

She doesn't like the way Dany points out how bad her injury could be. She was trying to be strong for the men, ignore the pain. But it did hurt- when all this was over she'd have to get to the infirmary, see if she could get it taken care of. But for now, Daenerys' expertise was as close as they got.

She frowns, but nods. "If you insist." She sits back down, trying not to wince when she jostles her shoulder. What she wouldn't give for milk of the poppy right now.

"He got me with an arrow," she explains, looking over at Jon. "Daenerys too."

"I'm far from a maester, but I'll look at it if you think it will help. As long it's clean and not bleeding, it should be fine until someone else can look at it." Those are basically the things he knows about treating injuries from when his own injuries have been treated.

"I gathered. Having them removed is far from a pleasant experience." It's like he knows that for a fact or something.

"You have more experience with the battlefield than I, brother," she reminds Jon.

She nods. "Yes- that I can no longer deny." She can imagine now, to some degree, the pain Rickon was in in his last few moments, shot by the same bow, the same man. The poor boy. He'd done nothing to deserve such a fate.

"Daenerys, Jon- will one of you go into the cupboards in the toilet? There's a bottle of Ars-prin to dull the pain."

"I will try to find it," though she was uneasy, uncertain that she would recognize the bottle easily. Slowly, she limped towards the bathroom, her leg feeling as if it was burning sharply beneath the skin. There was a small circle of blood underneath the bandage, spreading a bit as she put weight on her leg.

It was easier to find the aspirin than she feared, the label clearly marking it. Much like Sansa though, she wished for a bit of Milk of the Poppy. Anything to numb the pain and give her sweet sleep.

"Here," she offered it out to Sansa before collapsing back against the couch with a small hiss of pain.

Experience on the battlefield doesn't mean experience with healing injuries, but he'll look at Sansa's anyway, because she's right, he has seen plenty of them before. It looks clean and the bleeding has mostly stopped, both of which are good signs.

"That one should be fine until someone with healing skill can look at it." Which he will insist on, even if Sansa doesn't.

"Both of you are going to want to be as careful as you can of them until they're healed."

"You mean that I cannot lead a charge into battle now?" Despite the pain, she still felt able to make a joke. It was either a witty quip or screaming into the night with frustration. The ghosts that were summoned unsettled her and Viserys was never far from her mind.

"What of you? You fought him off as well, didn't you?"

"I did. I'm better with a sword than he is." Which is lucky, because otherwise the North might not have prevailed in the Battle of the Bastards. He might not have prevailed, because when it came down to it, it had been a fight between him and Ramsay more than between armies.

"I'm also apparently a faster runner." Because he also knew better than to let a dead person close enough to touch him.

"It kept the attention away from Sansa long enough to let her get to safety." And that was all that mattered in the end. Without the distraction, without that help, they might have been shot full of arrows before they could even reach the house. Somehow, they were still standing and that was in no small part due to Jon.

"I wonder how the others are managing out there?"

Maybe his presence there kept things from being worse. But he hadn't been able to get them to turn out better, either. It's still two more arrow wounds than he'd like to have happened.

He thinks of what had happened to Inesa and his face darkens for a moment. But he's not going to dwell too much on that right now, because he can't. "Hopefully some of them have made it to safety like we have."

"Oh- Daenerys-" Sansa accepts the bottle, looking at the blood blooming across Dany's bandage. "Sit, please."

With some difficulty, Sansa is able to open the bottle of asprin and take a few of the pills for herself. A few more she passes over to Dany. "These will help with the pain. They aren't as good as Milk of the Poppy, but they'll do."

She eyes the bottle suspiciously. It wasn't a lack of trust in Sansa, but whatever this world provided. Still, the pain in her leg was enough to push her to try it, needing at least some relief from the injury. She followed Sansa's example, taking two pills as well. They were bitter against her tongue, but that was no different from other medicine in their world.

"Thank you." For that and more.

She nods. "Of course. the relief is not immediate, but it should help. Should the ghosts disappear, I'm sure we can seek the healers here."

She understands the distrust. They were queens. People tried to poison them, kill them, it came with the territory.

She looks over at the younger girl. "And thank you. Both of you."
