A New Year A New You
Ghosts.
John warned people. She told them not to interact with the ghosts. Persephone warned people. She told them that some of them weren’t ghosts at all. But no one listened. And after three months whatever tenuous hold the Sphere had upon those ghosts have been broken. The ghosts are here, and they are hungry. They’re hungry for life, for knowledge, to give people knowledge and of course to make certain that the Sphere becomes a city of the dead like them.

For the most part, the ghosts are feral, even the ones that have been fine before as they slipped in and out of being around and not. But they are not all ghosts of people. No, they are the ghosts of everything that has had a body that has died in the Sphere: sirens, skeletons, androids, people. How much less intelligent they were determines how feral and animal like the ghosts have become and how violent their attacks will be. For example: the most violent ghosts are the sirens, following that are the skeletons, following that the ghosts of NPCs with ghost of player characters lasting the longest.

Other than Annie I mean. She has a special part to play later.

Ghosts are drawn to single parties, or to small groups of them, the life the people offer like a beacon in the blackness of their minds. Their attacks aren’t coordinated—more often than not they’re simply striking out with energy claws and attempting to drain the life out of people. At first fighting them off is relatively easy to do, like a nightmare it’s simply getting away. But as people start to congregate into groups the attacks become larger, more powerful and more dangerous.

It is during this time that weapons will be come apparent: salt of course, placed in a circle around people, anything silver, and people of faith will also be protected. What that faith in is up to you, however.

your character dies as a result of this attack, they will be considered a ghost for the rest of the plot with all that comes with it, including attacking others. If you wish your character to die consider the timing in that. Automatic saving from death is suspended during this plot, but if your character dies they lose any powers they have.

However, there will be some ghosts who will want to talk to your characters. They will want to answer questions for them. Those will be placed in a separate NPC tag below. This is where Annie comes in, so if characters have issues with her, that may be an important thing to consider. Because Annie will remember.

In a desperate attempt to stop the attacks and the Sphere itself, the giant golden glowball will try something dangerous. It’s going to attempt to reset people using their memories. However this is going to backfire badly. Instead it will cause dead characters from people’s past to show up for the last day of the plot only January 28th. No dead characters from the persons home world may appear before then and they will disappear on January 29th. Please keep in mind these will be feral ghosts and not actually the characters themselves and they should be treated as such.

On January 29th at midnight, the Sphere will do something even more desperate: it will kill everyone within the Sphere which means everyone wakes up in their domes in the sunken bed on the floor. There is no penalty involved in this death, no memory loss or anything like that and everyone within the Sphere will be reset and the ghosts will be absent.

"Neither do I." Perhaps she should have purchased a silver dagger, but how could she know that she would need that rather than steel? Once they reached her home, she shut the door quickly, hurrying into the kitchen to fetch some salt.

"Here, put it in front of the door."

If silver made good weapons, then weapons would be made out of it rather than steel, is what he figures. Or at least more of them would. He'll just have to make do with what he's got.

In front of the door. Right. He's heard about that too. He pours a line of it out by the door.

"That should keep him out."

Only with the reassurance that Viserys wouldn't make it into her home, the weight of what she had seen hit her. The loss, the loneliness and the guilt overwhelmed her. She sighed, rubbing her hands over her face as she sank onto her couch. She hadn't expected to return to that place of fear, the child she had been before. Yet one look at him and she was the cowering princess.

'What do we do now? Do we simply wait here until he tires of this chase?"

"I don't know." It's not how he had planned to spend his day, but he hadn't really had plans, and there would be worse places to be right now. It would just help if there were any idea of how long they might be stuck here. "We could be here for hours."

No. She's not pleased about this at all. Being kept a prisoner in her own home? She's not about to let that happen. If silver could defeat them, she would find something silver and forge a weapon. There would be something.

"What is your sword made of? Not silver?"

So far it seems like the ghosts only come after one person, the one they're looking for. In which case he could leave without trouble. But he's not doing that. He could also be wrong about that, and the ghost would care just as much about him as it does about Daenerys.

"No. It's Valyrian steel."

She turned to look at his sword, but frowned in disappointment. "Are you certain?" There was supposed to be rippled, crafted in a way that no normal blacksmith could recreate. Though it was obvious this sword, whatever it was, was highly prized by Jon. Even the handle had a white wolf.

"How did you come by it?"

"I'm certain. It's lighter than other swords of its size." And its previous owner wouldn't have lied about it, either. He's certain of that.

"Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. I was his steward. It's the Mormonts' ancestral sword. He wanted to pass it on to his son, but he's in exile, so he passed it on to me because I saved his life once."

She flinched, looking back at the sword as a pang of regret struck her. She had thought of her Great Bear on occasion, even though she knew she was right to send him away. Still, seeing the sword that should be his, hearing of the man that was his father, it brought back the past so fresh and harsh that it made her dizzy.

"Ser Jorah served me for a time." She murmured softly, turning away in an effort to hide her emotion, though it was clear in her voice.

"I met him. Not long before I arrived here." They'd been preparing to head to Eastwatch-by-the-sea to check on their wight problem when Jon ended up here instead.

"I hope that he has found a better life." She truly did. If he could find a pardon, perhaps he could return home to his family and House. It was a better life than he could find with her and she had no desire to see him again, no matter how she missed him.

"I met him at Dragonstone. He had just come from Oldtown." So he doesn't know what sort of life Jorah had there, just that he had been welcome at Dragonstone."

That he returned to Westeros wasn't a surprise, but he set foot on Dragonstone felt like a violation to her family. He had no place in her life any longer and she wished that he would return to Bear Island and the family he left behind. "He sold information about me to the Usurper."

"I didn't know anything about that." They hadn't exchanged that sort of info before getting around to business. "He seemed willing to help fight against the wights, and we'll need as much help as we can get to defeat them."

At least Jorah had a purpose, something that she had hoped for him, but didn't intend to consider much. There was the talk of the undead again, and while she wasn't a disbeliever, it was still hard to picture and imagine. Save for the dream that she had one night, she knew very little about these creatures.

"He is a good warrior."

"We will need good warriors if we're going to succeed." Which Sansa says they will, but that doesn't mean he's not worried about how they'll get there. "Bad ones too, probably. Anyone able to fight."
