Actually, I think people watch movies like this to make fun of them. Like listening to a bad story teller back home. [Just because they had good stories back home didn't mean everyone was good at them. Add drinks and the man would be lucky to get out with all his hair.]

In Riverview, there were movie nights dedicated to what people said were bad movies. The effects and acting were laughable, and people would throw stuff at the screen or make their own commentary.
