Crack in the Walls: Dorm 3
Who: Anyone either involved in the Dorm 3 Quest or for those wanting to shelter in Dorm 3. You can shelter there without being involved in the questing.
What: Dorm 3 as an Emergency Shelter/trying to get things turned back on.
Where: Dorm 3 and the tunnels below.
When: June 13-onward.
Notes: For the first three days feel free to make normal just being locked in a shelter things. The actual questing stuff will happen in closed threads.
Warnings: Sirens, blood, gore, creepy monster elements.
The alarms have sounded and people have begun to move. Everyone knows about getting to the closest shelter. For the most part, this is an orderly move, but there is some panicking. The council and various npcs are out shouting for people to get a move on. Water is coming in rapidly. When the alarm first sounds it’s up to people’s ankles, and then when the final alarm rings and the doors start to close, it’s up to the average person’s knees. Once the outer door is sealed, there’s feedback and communication is off.
John has never liked Dorm 3, it always gives her the willies, which when you’re a ghost, is something that really shouldn’t happen. But she was bringing supplies to Dorm 3 when the alarm goes out, and being as she’s a doctor, she’s just going to be over here taking charge if you don’t mind. Getting people into the large gym-like area, John does her best to remind people to set up food and sleeping supplies, but let’s be honest, she’s a ghost and she doesn’t always think of food and sleeping and fun.
Besides, there’s the giggling and the feeling watched that’s present from even when the first siren went off and before it. It continues in the night, and the power flickers here more often than the rest does.

As they walk, a sense of calm falls over her. She wants to keep going forward and find the source of this calmness. It takes Enis stopping them and pointing out she can hear whatever is with them for Carol to realize that she's hearing a song.
And then Enis is pulled under.
Carol is immediately in fight mode, knife up and ready, eyes searching for the assailant as she stands still. "What was that?"
no subject
-and then she was dragged under, nearly faster than his eyes could track. Instinct brought the spell to mind that conjured his daggers in his hands and he held up a hand. "I really have no idea."
And then he looked back to Mera. "I assume your Atlantean physiology grants you more than the ability to breath underwater? Good." He nods, not waiting for an answer. "If you can see in that gloom, I suggest running after her. I'll follow." He looks to Carol, then. "And while I do so, my attention won't be here. If anything happens to my body while I'm projecting, I'm holding you personally responsible. Whatever it is, I suggest we lure them to the shallows as best we can." He looks to Mera, "That leave the rescue of our idiotic damsel to you. Can you manage?"

Mentally, that's where she was when Enis was dragged under; in her head and focusing far too strongly on the song and how it was a trap to be fully affected by it. The noise and speed of what happened snapped her back to reality and before Loki started talking her eyes were already glowing a bright irridecent blue - far too bright for the darkened chamber they'd walked into. What looks almost like a blue mist begins to escape from her palms and fingertips and the water seems to shudder, agitating more and more as she concentrates. Slowly, the water begins to part before it begins to seem to cling to the walls in large columns, leaving a few of it's inhabitants flat against the ground.
"Go get her, and stop that singing." It's not that she's struggling, but her voice sounds strained. Holding a conversation while using her powers isn't something she does every day.

Danger. Body temperature dropping. Oxygen levels low.
Override Initiated.
Audio Systems Muted.
Enis opened her eyes just as the water around her began to curl and shift, creating an unnatural path at the center of the tunnel.
Recalculating.
She twisted her torso, letting her legs remain in place as the unidentified creature clung to her ankle. Enis's torso rolled into the air but didn't bother to signal to those behind her. Not with the creature still affixed to her leg.
Her free palm rested on the cool tunnel floor and twisting her body like a cat, she flipped the creature out of the water and onto the dry floor. It flopped like a fish and for the first time they got a look at their attackers. Enis still held the combat blade in her hand and she mechanically slit the throat of the creature, cutting off its song.
There were more and until Loki or others joined her at the front of the path, Enis was unfortunately their target and wildly out numbered.
To those who could see her. Her once vibrant blue eyes had turned blood red.

It's miraculous. This woman must be something of a goddess.
Then the swift motions of combat draw her eyes to Enis, and as more creatures rush for the girl, Carol runs forward to help. She thrusts the blade of her knife right into a creature's eye. They aren't the dead, but a knife to the brain will take care of any sentient being. With that in mind, she pulls the knife free and turns her attention to the next closest creature.

Blinking, he hazards a glance in Carol's direction. "Be prepared. It's going to be very quiet." And he waves his hand, enveloping them in a dome of silence. They'd be fighting deaf, but at least they'd be fighting without the influence of the sirens. He doesn't wait to see if Carol adjusts, but sets to work on slaughtering the gathering mermaids.

Mera was a fighter as well, she could have been useful against their singing adversaries, but that would require her to stop what she was doing, and she doubted anyone but herself and maybe Loki could fight unencumbered underwater.

She didn't hesitate when the walls wavered or when Loki's spell fell over her senses. She was set to do one thing and that was to destroy all targets.
If one got close to her she'd slit it's throat, otherwise she focused on pulling them out of the water where they had the upper hand.

Unfortunately, she isn't paying full attention to her surroundings and doesn't realize how close she is to the watery wall. A creature grabs her from behind, pulling her in.
no subject
At least the assailants seemed to be thinning.

Closing her eyes slightly, she reached out with her abilities and started shoving as many of the remaining creatures out of the water as her divided concentration would allow.

Her hand shot out, fingers curling around the siren's arm to pull it out of the water far enough to slide the gleaming silver of her blade across its throat. Thick plasma coated her knife as she sought another of the creatures and another. Without the use of a wider network, there was very little that her sensors could detect on their own.
Her blood red eyes turned to look up at Mera as her voice called above the echoes of the turning water. "How many are there?" Even if Mera had no way to tell, she was at a further vantage point that could see yards around their current position.

She fights a bit more cautiously, darting forward to take down a siren, then backing away for a quick rest.
no subject
"Well, that was impressive."
no subject
"I suggest we keep moving." As she speaks the water in front of them starts making a path toward their destination. "I'd prefer not to keep this up indefinitely." There's a small smirk on her lips though. It may be partly a joke.
no subject
She felt the system inside of her head disengage and once again Enis was in control of her own body. Her red eyes slowly turned back into bright vibrant blue while dots of blood swelled at the corner of her eyes. Enis wiped the blood away before they could fall as tears. "I think we're close." The depth of the floor looked like it was beginning to slope back up a few yards away.
"Let's go." This time Enis waits for Mera who was in control of the water and followed at her side. Her blade didn't leave her grip despite the relative peace.
no subject
"What were those things? I'm used to fighting off the dead, but the dead are generally predictable. At least...in my world." She looks to Loki, assuming he might have the most knowledge about otherworldly creatures.
no subject
He does smile at Mera as he joins the rest of them. "You mean you can't keep this up all day?"
no subject
Once they reached the next stretch of land, she lowered her hands, and the walls of water made their way down and back into place. Her eyes also became their normal color.

She exhaled a sigh as they came to a doorway at the end of the hall. This was similar to the last one though the word scrawled next to it read 'Finish it', written in blood just like before.
Enis checked the door and pushed it open slowly. On the other side was a large room that faded into darkness on the other side. The water looked deeper but at the center of the room was their goal. She glanced back at everyone and weighed their options. "Mera." Her voice was oddly placating. "Could you push the water back around us? I'd like to try sending an electric shock into the water. It might give someone time to get to the center and finish this."
She wasn't mentioning that it'd make her pass out in the process but that seems like a minor detail. Hopefully, someone will drag her out instead of leaving her to die. Not that she'd feel sad if she died.

"What's in there? I can't see much, but if you tell me what needs to be done, I'll do it."
no subject
He shook his head, at Carol's question. He really had no idea what was down there. To Mera, he smiled. "Your move. I'll handle whatever doesn't stay put. Enis," he looks to the younger girl, "you and Carol are responsible for getting this repair taken care of. We'll make sure you don't die."
no subject
[She means it too. With that said, she raises her hands as her eyes begin to glow that unnatural blue, and the water to recedes once more.]
no subject
She had seen him fighting and while he was good, there was error in his movements. If he was to face the creatures alone with Mera holding back the water... this might not end well for them if he fails.
