007: Rain & Pillow Forts [Open & Closed]
Who: Angel & YOU.
What: Date & Weather?
Where: Anywhere within the City.
When: Early June.
Warnings: None yet. Will update.
[ooc: will match formats.]
Dancing in the rain~! [6th - 8th]
[A huff of laughter escapes from her lips as she lifts her chin towards the sky. It isn't the sky, not really, but it is raining!
Her arms lift over her head as the rain picks up to a steady pour. Her clothes cling to her torso, hips and legs as she spins with her arms raised over her head. The dress she is wearing is light pink but thankfully not see through as it soaks through.
As seconds pass her dance becomes more elaborate. One leg lifts gracefully behind her while the other rises to the point of her boot. She moves elegantly and seemingly oblivious of anyone else who might be around.]
Take two! [Closed to Jack - 3rd]
[She sets up her room with everything that they will possibly need for their date. There is a small pillow fort around her bed with lots of extra pillows inside where they can sit and talk. She made soup and rice bowls with grilled meat and vegetables piled on top. It can all be eaten with a fork or spoon so they won't make too much of a mess and she's always worried about Jack's diet. Human's can't live off of candy bars.
Their date will be perfect with dinner, pillow forts and the ice cream she has stashed in the fridge for later. All of this and no blood.
She's wearing a cute pink orange cream colored sweater and a white skirt. The sweater looks like it's a little too big but it's just so she can match Jack and his habit of wearing sweaters that look a little too big.
Now she just needs to wait for Jack.]

He shows up in nice date clothes, at least by his standards; a white t-shirt with suspenders and dress pants. Not a drop of blood on him, and he's freshly showered and free of dirt to boot. He does not look like he's slept at all lately, though. And just like every time he's seen her lately, he has to pause at first and just admire her, and thank whatever gods might exist that she cares about his existence.]
You look really great.
XD
They pause and stare at each other for a few pleasant seconds before she steps forward, slides her arms around his waist and gives him an affectionate hug.] Thank you. [She looks up at him, her arms around his waist while her gray-blue eyes glitter with excitement.] I saw this sweater and thought of you. I'm really glad you like it!
Want to see what I made for us?
[She doesn't give him a chance to listen. Instead she grabs his hand and leads him to her bed, the fort that's been constructed around it and the little picnic that's decorated on the floor in front of the bed.]
What do you think?
no subject
He probably wouldn't know what a pillow fort was, if the little sisters hadn't made them before. He lets out a quiet chuckle, but it's warm and full of excitement.]
I love it. [The food has his attention too, but he's going to be cool about it and at least settle into the fort before grabbing it. And he'll do his best not to just inhale it, but damned if he doesn't always eat like it's the end of the world.]

[She gestures towards the pillow fort, leading him inside and to where she'd set up the little picnic. Her bowl has less food in it but she tries to eat with a similar gusto so that Jack isn't eating alone.
Her legs curl against her chest, placing the bowl on the crest of her knees as she ate. Once she is done she pushes it away from the bed, along the floor so that it's out of the way. She'll worry about cleaning things up later.] How is the food? I tried something new from a cookbook I purchased.
I didn't realize how many types of food there are.
Did you know that you can eat eggs raw?
no subject
You can get sick, though. From raw eggs.
[Or at least, that's what Ma Wynand told him, but he's taken to taking everything he learned from his parents with a grain of salt. Maybe that's just another thing Fontaine made up.]
You think they have chicken farms down here?
[Back in Rapture, he never figured out where the food was coming from... but it hadn't mattered much at the time. Most everyone was cannibalizing each other rather than going to restaurants.]

[She lays down on her side, a large fluffy pillow positioned beneath her shoulder and head, and then waves for Jack to join her. From this position he might be able to see the little stars that she'd cut out of paper and hung from the ceiling of the fort. Now that they're finished eating, she waves a hand and the lights in the room flick off. Above them is a soft decorated string of lights making the cut out stars look a little bit like the night sky.]
I don't think so. I haven't seen any animals except my puppy friend.
[Her smile widens.]
Do you like the stars? I tried to make them here.
no subject
[His eyes light up for a moment, but then it fades just as quickly. He would love to see a dog, but after Anna... Well, he doesn't want to risk hurting another puppy. He just rolls onto his back and watches the "stars", with an expression akin to a child seeing the sky for the first time.]
I love them. It's... like doing this with my daughters, a little.
no subject
[Her head comes to rest on Jack's shoulder as he joins her beneath the makeshift sky.]
You have daughters? [Her voice is soft, curious and sweet as if they've created their own safe little haven beneath the sheets. She slides a little closer, her fingers intertwining with his as their sides rest comfortably together.] Will you tell me a little about them?
I've- [Her voice briefly cuts and she frowns.] I wonder if I can have children.
no subject
I'd rather not. I can't... I don't want to hurt him.
[He bites his lip, but pushes himself to focus on the topic of daughters instead. His fingers tighten slightly on her hand for comfort.]
I have five. They're not really... mine. But I brought them with me when I left. I took care of them.
[He frowns, and glances at her.] You don't... know?
no subject
[She briefly closes her eyes and curls against his side. The smell of sea salt, chocolate, iron and soap fill her nose. There is an absence of blood today and it almost makes her smile in relief.]
You might see him. If he visits again but I won't let you hurt him. I promise. [She places a light kiss against his cheek before settling back into place.
She's silent for a few long seconds before she finally finds her voice again.]
I don't.
I think-
-maybe I can. I would love to be a mother and have a family but it frightens me too. [She glances over at Jack and smiles.] I bet you are a wonderful father.
no subject
Tenenbaum says I did a good job. [He hesitates.] I don't know. My parents... well, I just don't wanna end up being the sort of man my father was. My real father, I mean.. my fake dad was pretty great.
[He takes a deep breath, trying to stay calm and finding it a bit harder all of a sudden. It's been months and months since he was home, and all the events in Rapture happened in one day. It's become a swirling mess of emotions, more than a proper memory.]
no subject
[Her fingers intertwine with his as she brings a hand to his chest. Her palm rests lightly near his clavicle, feeling the quick beat of his heart beneath the heel of her palm.]
Is something wrong?
You can talk to me. I'll always be here for you.
[They haven't formally stated the nature of their relationship but she's already promised herself to be there for him. He's taken a piece of her heart that has never been touched before and she wants to protect that feeling.]
no subject
There's... a lot. I can't talk about all of it. I don't know where to start.
[He hesitates.]
I wish I didn't know who my father was. He was a monster.
[He hates bringing up his memories, he knows it makes Angel uncomfortable but he can't just hold out on her if she wants to hear it.]
no subject
Don't let him decide how you feel now. He's done enough. And as unpleasant as it is, you can learn from his mistakes.
It isn't ideal but you know what you don't want to do Jack. That makes you a good person.
