I don't wanna work
Who; Aaron (
dadenergy) & The Tenth Doctor (
borntolove)
Where; The forge, industrial dome
When; Today, mid-afternoon
Why; Showing the Doctor around the forge, maybe learning a thing or two from him
Warnings; n/a.
[It turns out, going to sleep and waking up 6 years later means you have to talk to a lot of people. He'd mentioned to the doctor the forge a while back, though, and since he was getting back into the swing of things, shooting an invite to the man seemed like the way to go.
He still wore his arm, the one the blacksmith back home had crafted, but Laurie was in the process of making him something that would, she claimed at least, be functional. He didn't even want to think about that, instead choosing to focus on the task at hand: learning how to smith one-handed. Aaron usually arrives at the forge early to get some time in before he's joined by other trainees and today isn't an exception. He's in an undershirt only (forges are hot) when the Doctor arrives.]
Hey, glad you could come by.

Hey, glad you could come by.

Ten does notice that someone is one handed one - over their first encounter and can sense the innocence nearly completely gone and there's something of a sympathetic look in those brown eyes; which deeper are still alien.
There is a returned smile; none-the-less]
Thank you for remembering.
[Ten slides out of his brown suit coat and rolls up his shirt sleeves; no sense in getting those dirty now is there? Course, it's still hot too but he's able to take the heat a bit better with having a cooler core body temperature. With a more serious tone]
What happened to your hand?
[Though won't push the subject either]

[He glances down at his metal prosthetic before looking back up at the other man.]
Oh, uh...I lost it in a fight with an undead bear.
[And then he laughs, shaking his head.]
See? It doesn't even sound cool. I'm going to have to have a talk with Ivar about that.

Ten will buy that- given how Aaron said he came from a post-apocalyptic world and The Doctor has heard a lot weirder. A mouth pop - he does wonder if the device works in reserve. The right way - they share memories but could memories be manufactured and put into them? And it really wasn't a zombie bear but whomever is holding them here - cut his arm off but left memories of that. Entirely possible.
There's a hardy arm pat over Aaron's shoulders.]
It would take awhile but I could manufacture a bionic arm for you.

[He looks confused for a moment, blinking.]
Bionic...?

Electromechanical. Basically, when you wear it, the arm responds the same way your actual muscles do by electric impulses from your brain.

Yes.
[As he's looking around at the tools in the shed; no Flux Core Welder. They're going to be kicking it old school with the extreme heat it looks like. A mouth pop and picks up a small square solid metal piece and what looks like different width metal rulers and gets a scriber and presses that against the width metal rulers that rest on the metal square and afterwards there's a clear mark on the square piece of metal]
That's, in theory, is where you'd cut the metal and you'd draw an 'x' if a screw was to go though thar.

...uh...what?

This is just measurements and markings.
[Then a casual]
What's on your mind?

[He didn't recall them planning anything.]
