Arrival of the Winchester Kind [ OTA ]
Who: Dean Winchester and OPEN!
What: Arrival, exploration, all that jazz
When: November 1
Where: kind of everywhere, he's exploring and wandering to get the lay of the land
Warning(s): TBD
Merchant Dome
The merchant dome had sounded interesting enough, so he makes sure to figure out his way there. He's curious to see what manner of shops there'd be in the dome, and he's not disappointed, really. And he may wander his way into each one for a quick look around, even if some of the windows make it fairly obvious what the stop might carry. It's good to get a look around, if you ask him. Which means he may bump into someone while slipping through a shop, or if you own it you may see him ducking in to look at your wares.
And well, if there's a female employee behind the counter, there may even be a quick flash of a grin, incredibly flirty, before he continues looking at what there is offered in the shop.
Library Dome
His wandering will lead him into the library dome at some point in the day, and he can't help the whistle that leaves him at the sight of all the books. "Geeze Sammy would drool over this place," he comments softly to himself. Though he's not too careful to keep it down either. He's never been a studious kind of person, though he did read occasionally. Mostly magazines and comic books.
And he'll take a moment to poke around through the stacks, to see if anyone is in the dome as well. To see what all is around to read. Not that he's a huge reader, that's Sammy's area more, but if they've got some comics, well, maybe he could see himself settling down in here to read a bunch.
If he does see someone, he might be inclined to slip over and see what they're reading. Curiosity and all that.
Wildcard
Because Dean's literally exploring every nook and cranny of this place he's allowed to get into, please by all means run into him in the hallway in passing, as he's peaking into one of the Recreational domes, trying to pick a lock on a dome he shouldn't be getting into. He'll be all over today as he tries to wrap his mind around this whole thing.

Library Dome - Let me know if this isn’t okay!
His brows raise lightly as he heard an unfamiliar voice speaking up. “I would hope not, I can’t imagine that would be good for the books? The uh— staff would complain as well. They’re a little fussy that way.” ...Yes, Dean. The detective sometimes can be a bit literal minded, he’s taking that throw away comment seriously.
Looks awesome! =D
His eyes flicker around some of the library a little before back to the man sitting on the table. There's really no questioning why he's on the table instead of in a chair, though with the way he's slightly hunched, Dean would actually suspect it has everything to do with the man's wanted posture to read his book. Also, not exactly the strangest thing Dean's seen in his life. "Looks like you're quite the reader too though." He pauses for just a moment before offering, "I'm Dean."
Yay!
Llewellyn gave Dean a short once over at the introduction, a thoughtful expression on his face. Dean’s clothes, and the fact that he introduced himself with a first name rather than a full name, meant the guy was from the future. Possibly from a similar time to that of Alex, or maybe young Eddie? “Nice to meet you Dean, I’m Detective Llewellyn Watts.” He reached out to take the hand offered to give it a polite shake as he slipped off the edge of the table to stand. His posture was still a little slouched compared to those from his era, but even so he was a fairly tall fellow. Yes, he looks every bit the part of an Edwardian gentleman out of a play. He hasn’t... quite gotten around to updating his wardrobe yet. He’s been busy!

Dean's hands are calloused when he shakes Llewellyn's hand, with a strong grip though not in an effort to test the other man but just who he is. "It's nice to meet you." Detective. And he finally gets past the books to really take in the clothing, giving the slightest arched brow to them, because they look far more spiffy and classed up compared to the jeans, black t-shirt and flannel button down that isn't buttoned Dean is currently wearing. Definitely future casual, or well Dean's current time normal for people. "Winchester," he offers after a moment since Llewellyn offered his full name, "last name's Winchester." Part of him wonders if he should be going by a different name, but how would he explain that later if he ended up being a long term resident of this place. "How long have you been here, if you don't mind me asking?"
no subject
So... That could be a small existential crisis in the making. Not that it stopped him from looking, he was a curious sort.
Llewellyn’s handshake isn’t what you would call strong, but it’s a practiced kind of firm. Like he knows handshakes are important and tend to make up some people’s opinion of you as far as first impressions go. He doesn’t get it, not really, but the detective has worked very hard to be more than he was supposed to be according to the world around him. “Likewise, Mr. Winchester.” Oh, and unless corrected, it was going to be hard for him to remember to call the guy by his first name.
The question gets a wrinkle from his brow, brows raising a little as he tried to think about the answer. “Nope. Don’t mind you asking, I’ve been here... Since February? If I’m not mistaken, it’s November now. So... about ten months?” Oof, his expression turned a little awkward. Had it really been that long? That was only a couple months off of a year!
Library
Looking up, he notices the man poking around the library, looking a bit lost. "Are you looking for something?"
no subject
"Just looking mostly. It's a lot to take in." Dean's hand rubs at the back of his neck for a moment before he adds, because it might not be obvious, "I'm new here."
no subject
"It gets easier with time." It's the only comfort he can give the other man in the situation they're in. He can't send him home and he's not entirely sure how to use everything here. Most of it is primitive enough to be confusing and take far too long to figure out.
"I'm Ben."
Merchant Dome!
When she bumps into the stranger, she lets out a small gasp of surprise.
“Ah- I’m very sorry!”
no subject
"I'm sorry too, I wasn't entirely watchin' where I was going." There's a small smile from Dean, apologetic. "You okay?"
Merchant Dome - Mechanic Shop
and repairs or the space in the backroom that she used for her personal projects but she absolutely hated the customers. Her face had 'fuck off' written across it while she worked, even if her current project was taking up the front counter of the shop.
It wasn't a traditional shop. The store did sell random pieces of equipment but it specialized in custom made equipment and repairs on advanced technology. Even the display's around the shop ranged from pieces of weapons, control systems and small sections of scrap metal. It was all a bit messy; which was another reason that Enis should not have been left in charge of the shop.
She didn't look up when Dean walked in but she did speak when it looked like he was about to pick up one of her shock spheres. "Don't touch."
You had him at Mechanic Shop 😍
His hand stills at her words, eyes sliding over to her at the counter though he still has that very deep need to touch. Because he's curious about what it is. "How dangerous is it to touch?" He slowly pulls his hand back though, at least waiting for an answer as he inches close to look at it more at least.
<3 He's welcome to hang out there all he wants.
She made no effort to hide the fact that she was checking him out. "No. I keep weapons and all related parts locked in the work shop." Most of them were her gun's anyway. "I just don't want you breaking anything you can't afford."
Thanks to Rhys and Pandora, the technology in the shop was fairly advance. To the point that there were odd looking devices around that Dean wouldn't be able to immediately identify what they did without picking them up and fiddling with it.
<3 Listen, teach him a little of the future tech and he'll be happy to help manage your shop
He's not bothered by her checking him out either, his brow arching in more of a 'like what you see' kind of motion instead. "Probably smart, all things considered." Because really, having someone touch a weapon and accidentally hurt themselves he's sure was bad for business. "Considering I'm not entirely sure what the currency is or how to earn it around here, you're probably right about not affording it."
Sammy had his books and his history, Dean was always the lore and mechanics guy of their family. Though his hand itched to get back under a hood even though it hadn't been that long since he'd done a check on his car. Though learning the new technology would interest him. He's curious enough, and willing to learn.
She'd totally do that. :p And just work on her inventions
"You'll get an allowance and if that isn't enough, you can get a job." She took a better look at his clothes and hummed thoughtfully to herself. "Newbi- huh? I peg you as a 21st century kinda guy or the 90s if you tie that flannel around your waist." It was one part of the 90s that Enis would never understand.
She clicked her tongue and went back to working on the project in front of her while talking.
"If you see something you like you can work it off too. I have some stuff that needs cleaning and heavy lifting and you look like you're in shape." Plus she wouldn't mind seeing those muscles in action.
library
She was doing it now, the reading thing. She'd found a book that, while confusing in all of the modern terms and things (what was a silver Audi? And where was a Washington and why did it have forks?) was sucking her into the story. She was so engrossed that she hardly noticed someone coming over to take a look at what she was reading.
Until they got too close and the young woman looked up at him with a frown. "Do you know what baseball is?"
no subject
He can't help but be curious about the book she's reading, because the cover looks interesting enough. But for him that book is still another three years from his future. Lucky for him maybe, or not so lucky because if she asks him questions because of it, it may spur him to look into it for the first couple chapters at least.
Though the question has him arch a brow. "It's a sport played between two teams. I've watched a few games on tv back home." Home, that's almost funny considering he lives out of hotel rooms and his car. Oh. His car. Poor girl's just out there somewhere back home without him.

"You must forgive me, I am not from here. Or any time near here."
