Walls closing in Log 2.

Who: Everyone.
Where: The Agricultural dome.
What: The Walls Are Closing in Plot Part Two
When: ICly: August 22-31st
Warnings: Loss of homes, items, cramped living conditions, violence, theft.
Important Notes: This is the second log of two for the Walls are Closing In plot. This log covers from when all of the domes are gone until the power goes out and the beginning of the September plot.

The Walls Are Closing In Part Two: The Calm before the Storm
Everyone in the Sphere is now crammed into the Agricultural dome. This sucks, but it’s not as bad as it could be. Or that it will be as time goes on. There are Domed tents that the Sphere has provided in long and tight rows. Within them, there are basic essentials of a bed and bedding and light. However, there’s not clothing or anything else within them. No chairs, sofas or what not. They’re small and they have very close quarters but at least they aren’t open air and people have some privacy.

In the center of the Dome, like the middle of a wheel is the large temporary supplies tent that the council has been stocking with food and medical supplies and stuff since the rec dome disappeared. There are the refrigerators from the merchant dome and dry supplies are there too. There’s also a supply there of books and games and other things for entertainment value.

Between meals, the long portable tables with folding benches are open to use them, and school is running at them as well.

Meals are provided at either end of the supply tent, cooked over the festival sort of equipment. The first things that are served are anything fresh: produce and meat. Within the supply tent, there’s places to deal with the trash and the massive amount of dishes and pots and pans feeding almost a thousand people accrue.

Additionally there are activities that community members have provided. At night Max shows movies against the wall of the tent. Different bards and storytellers have set up various places. Laurie and Jon give people first aid training. There’s trivia nights and the like. The Council is basically trying to do its best to keep the population calm and happy while they wait for the Sphere to fix this.

The Storm Hits
On August 25th, it becomes apparent that this isn’t going to be something as short as the council likes. They start doing food rations and keeping track of who’s eaten etc in order to conserve supplies. As a response to this, discontent breaks out within the community of the Sphere, both the older population and the new.

People start to strip the things growing within the Dome, stealing anything that seems to be still green that can be dried and used later.

Factions begin to form, and people start to intimidate, bully and outright steal other people’s food rations. They form gangs, trying to kick people out of tents in order to create more exclusive communities that only they can control. With a complete lack of care for who is in them, these factions will begin to use whatever means they can in order to remove people who they don’t trust in their communities, preying especially on the weak or those who they perceive to be.

Further, members of the factions will break into the tents of other residents, stealing bedding and stored food and personal items. It’s not quite violent yet, but it’s definitely something that hasn’t happened before in the Domes. Not even when the Moss happened was it this bad.

The Council then deputizes people in order to be security, especially as all hell starts to break loose. On August 28th the factions within the population are firmly established and are making organized attempts on both other factions as well as the supply tent itself. There are people with abilities in the old population too, and they are using them to attempt to fight the people blocking their access. This should be a realistic fight, with no one side being able to totally dominate the other. Unfortunately for everyone there is no easy way out of this. Feel free to have smaller skirmishes and being battles, or to have your character get caught between them. This is horrible and violent and it shouldn’t be something that people can ignore.

The older population will try and kill whoever they have to in order to be able to wrestle control over this.

The Shit Hits the Fan
On August 31st it starts with a flicker, and a dimming of the lights before they eventually shudder to the barest minimum of emergency lighting. For the first time since anyone has been here, the dome has something approaching true night. Everything is shadowed, and as the dark day at the bottom of the ocean goes on, the air feels stale and keeps getting more stale. And it starts to get cold as no light and no fresh air also means no more heat. The dome itself makes sure that no one itself is going to freeze to death. Yet.

The Calm before the storm i: Giving back.

[Alex had settled into a tent along with Richard of course, and she’d thrown herself into volunteer work. While Alex isn’t someone who would (or could help) with the cooking, what she does do is volunteer to help with doing dishes and cleaning up the tables after meals. Honestly she doesn’t mind all that much, considering that she worked in a dining hall her freshman year of college.

She can often be found there, rather wet and cracking jokes and the like. Or something as simple as:
]

Hey, can you pass me that sponge?

before the storm: ii storytelling.

Alex Reagan is always a storyteller no matter what it is that she does. Often at night, when dinner is done she can be found sitting on the ground where the tables had been, telling stories to those who want to hear them. They’re not really stories from the show,because the Sphere has told a lot of them and privacy and it’s too dark, but they’re still stories that Alex has seen and experienced, and told honestly, back home when she had worked on Pacific Northwest Stories proper.]

Okay. [Alex just asks with a grin.] Who wants to hear the story of the bear and who wants to hear the story about the time with the hot air balloon?

Before the storm iii: trivia night.

[For those who haven’t played a game with Alex Reagan, they might not know that she has a terrible competitive streak. There’s a reason that back home at the studio the producers have banned things like attack uno and Mario Cart.

Trivia night though seems like something that should be okay. But (and there’s always a bit) when Alex feels like there is an injustice happening. Like now for instance. Her voice is plaintive as the stress has been wearing on her, and Alex throws up her hands in exasperation.
]

Look! I’m just saying that this was a perfectly viable answer!

The Storm hits: i sharing food

[Alex Reagan has never really been all that good about having a proper eating schedule, especially when she’s busy. Instead, Alex kind of lives off of coffee, and when it looked like things were going to go exceptionally bad and they were going to lose their dome, Alex had taken the rather large supply of coffee she’d had and placed it in the tent that she’d scoped out for herself and Richard, along with a selection of his tea (and of course, scotch). So, honestly, she feels like she doesn’t need as much food as the rationing gives her as long as she can have enough coffee that she practically vibrates.

Today is one of those days, considering Alex is drinking it all day how she just normally does in the morning: black and with plenty of sugar. She’s had the better part of a plot and a half when she sees someone who has finished their meal and still looks hungry, Alex just looks up from the bowl of stew that she’s not touched and gestures towards it with the roll that had come along with it.
]

Hey, do you want this? I’m full.

The Storm hits 2: mugging.
[The problem with being so open about things, like the fact that she’d had coffee and that she’d stored all of the food that they’d had in their dome in their tent before the dome had vanished (including scotch and candy and things like that) meant that people had taken notice. Taking notice in a situation like this was a bad thing and that was certain. One night when Alex was coming back from telling stories (that often ended with Alex giving out small pieces of candy to kids once the rationing had started) a large man had stepped into her path.

The thing about Alex Reagan is that she’s tiny. Her personality and presence meant that she always seemed larger than her diminutive 5’1” frame, and this man is far taller than her. He’s taller than Richard actually, by at least half a foot, and Alex is just looking up at him when he holds out one large arm in order to prevent her from moving around him.
]

Gimme your bag. And anything else you’ve got of value on you.

[For a moment, Alex just stares at this man, her eyes wide before she asks:]

What?

[The man’s response is quick and he steps forward into her personal space, looming over her. His voice gets more low, the threat of violence in it and Alex is too scared by the menace in his eyes to look about for help.

Even if she needs it, desperately.

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM.
» first aid.

( The thing is Eddie does an awful lot of crowing on about health, but as it turns out there's not much in the way of real knowledge backing that up. Go figure. He's nothing if not committed though, so when the opportunity presents itself to get some real first aid knowledge under his belt, Eddie's obviously one of the first to sign up.

He's a surprisingly attentive student, considering he spends most of his time disrupting any peace to be found in a chaotic scenario. But this is important, and he's paying close attention to the instructions...

...which is why it's so disappointing that he's left with a triangle bandage and a look of utter confusion, as he tries to remember how to correctly tie the sling. )

Um. ( God, he doesn't want to ask for help. He's going to, but he really doesn't want to. ) Sorry. Which end goes where again?

» dish duty.

( With absolutely no plans to try and become part of protective detailing, a strong belief that helping with supplies will get him killed, and zero experience with cooking – Eddie's ability to help is pretty limited. He ends up in the supply tent helping with the cleaning, because despite his passionate beliefs on the other roles he does still want to help.

...It's maybe not the best fit for him. )

Are you serious, this isn't clean! If someone cooks off of this we'll probably all get food poisoning and die, just so you know.

( He's brandishing a pot – which in his defence, probably could use another scrub, but from his reaction you'd expect the thing to be coated in grime – and finally just throws in the towel. Instead he takes up a sponge and starts furiously scrubbing the pot on question, still grumbling under his breath. )

Jesus H. Christ, as if this whole situation isn't a health hazard waiting to happen, now we gotta worry about salmonella too? It's like none of these people have ever heard of E.coli.

THE STORM HITS.
» ration to ration.

( People are taking to rations with a mixed response, and it's making Eddie nervous. For his own part he's not too worried yet – it's not ideal for someone that's gotten too used to being able to raid places for snacks whenever the mood struck, but Eddie's lived on strict diets before. He's more concerned about the obvious tension brewing around them, keeping him nervous and on edge pretty much entirely during meal times.

This meal time is no exception – Eddie goes up quick, mumbles out the requested information and gets his food as quickly as possible. He's holding onto the bowl pretty tight as he looks around, trying to figure out where he can eat while being bothered the least. Maybe back at his tent – but then he's got to get there, and ducking and weaving through the tight pathways to get there alone just seems more stressful. )

Uh, Jesus, sorry– can I just– ( he ends up approaching the person that looks least likely to shiv him for his food, and tries to keep his visible stress response to a minimum as he approaches. Something about people sniffing out the weak, right? ) Can I just eat here? I'll be like two seconds I swear.

» tent troubles.

( Things are getting bad. Tensions are spreading like wildfire and honestly Eddie doesn't know how long they'll avoid the worst of the troubles. At this rate it seems like everyone's going to end up angry and fighting before long, and all he wants to do is hide until it all blows over or he wakes up from this tripped out nightmare.

Unfortunately neither option seem particularly realistic, so instead Eddie has taken to fiercely guarding the small handful of belongings he'd managed to save from disappearing along with his dome. It's only enough to fill a backpack – a pile of polaroid photographs, well chewed rabbit toys, a small amount of clothing, a few inhalers. Probably junk to anyone else, but that doesn't stop Eddie from carrying the backpack at all times. And now that the violence seems to be creeping closer towards their tent, it seems like that might not be enough.

He can hear the disturbance nearby, and seriously considers just staying put and staying quiet – but if nothing else, he's currently the one looking after Richie's rabbit, so he can't exactly ignore an approaching problem. Eddie gathers up the animal, tucked up high in the crook of his elbow and for all appearances looking just like he's got a ball of fluff stuffed in there, and sticks his head out of the tent.

It doesn't sound good. )

Shit, fuck– hey. ( He can only hope the person he flags down isn't involved in the more aggressive factions, considering he really isn't up to defending himself any time soon. ) The fuck is happening, where's all that noise coming from?
WILDCARD.
( open to pretty much anything that fits within the log prompts, even if you can't shoehorn it into one of these! feel free to pm or pp [personal profile] sharknado w questions, otherwise go wild!

eddie will be a bit more adventurous before things start to get bad and can be found about the place quite easily. he'll be doing his best to stay close to his friends once things turn, but given the chaos they'll end up separated at times and he'll be more likely to end up in the thick of things trying to find them. )

[Noctis had one hell of a time coming to terms with being alive again and he had the scars on his chest from various sword thrusts to prove it. Luckily though he'd found a few things to help with that and even his clothes had been miraculously brought back to being intact.

He had no idea where he was or why but he wasn't exactly the type to talk about his troubles so he walked along just checking on things, pretending nothing was amiss at all. And as he tugged his suit jacket on, he overheard someone ask a question. So his dark head turned at the speaker and saw that it belonged to a woman.]

Oh..uh..

[The king took a breath and nodded, internally debating whether or not to sit down. Besides, a story about something irrelevant might be a good thing to focus his attention on right now.]

I think I'd rather hear about the hot air balloon, if that's okay with you.

Calm/Arrival -

One moment he was sitting on the throne bleeding out with several stab wounds, with the last inflicted by his father. And in the next one he ended up in an unfamiliar place. With that memory of a sword through his body it brought a small last gasp for air and Noct's hand moved to his chest as his blue eyes opened.

The hand discovered scars but no open wounds and his black button down shirt appeared to have been put back together by some miracle. Confusion reigned over him quietly as he discovered he was sitting up in some sort of a room in a very dark corner. His ears could then pick up the sounds of conversation and slowly his head moved towards the noise.

The scent of food was in the air and Noctis blinked a few times from under his dark bangs. But at this point he had to be patient and just breathe, allowing the life force to flow through him once more which was very confusing. Had he not fulfilled his promises? Was there more that the Six wanted him to achieve? Had he failed to restore the light to Eos somehow? He'd told the guys he'd made his peace..but what more did he have yet to do?

Thinking on that he then saw someone approach and there were a few more blinks as the woman with blonde hair walked past him.

"Luna?"

Before the storm/meandering - Having gotten up, the king stood on a shaky pair of legs to see what he could find out. People were chattering on as if this was every day business for them and Noct had to find out what in the Six was going on. Being a soft spoken man it wasn't easy for him to just go out of his way to talk to someone but he needed information and this place was just beyond weird.

No one stared at him as if he were out of place and he tried to stay as he had on his journey, just an ordinary person doing ordinary things. But then he saw someone injured and somehow had a healing potion on him, so he nodded.

"I can help fix that if you want."

Before the storm i: Staff lessons

[People in the dome were bored, and Rey knew that. So one of the things that she’d first attempted was mediation lessons but while she was able to meditate with complete utter chaos she knows that a lot of other people can’t. So, after two failed sessions for that, Rey came on another idea: staff lessons.

The handles from gardening tools were perfect in order to make staves, and Rey unscrewed very single one of them as well as several brooms. Holding her own saber staff in front of her, Rey just said quickly.
]

Okay. Let’s start from here.

The storm hits i: bullies.

[Perhaps somewhat ironically, Rey isn’t a fan of bullies. She’s definitely not a fan of bullies who are doing things like taking food from people. So whenever she can, Rey just steps forward in order to intervene with one of the factions. She steps in between anyone and one of those people trying to steal their food or what not with a quick ]

I don’t think so. I think you should be moving on. Now.

[To the bully of course, because there’s no way she’d say something like that to a person who Rey was helping.]

The storm hits ii: guard duty.

[it’s late at night as Rey walks up and down in front of the part of the storage tent that she’s supposed to be guarding. While her staff isn’t out as she walks, Rey is most certainly keeping track of the people around them, trying to find them with the Force. But honestly, it almost seems like there’s people who have something that can cloak them from the Force, because the first sign that Rey has that there’s someone nearby is them stepping towards the light that’s surrounding the supply tent.

Without saying anything for a moment, Rey just arms her staff, the yellow lightsaber blades coming out with the traditional sound as she points one end towards the person in front of her and says quickly:
]

What are you doing here?

Shit hitting the fan

[When the lights go out, Rey knows that it’s bad. While it’s not quite the same thing, the feeling of the darkened dome has the feeling of a ship that’s adrift. Even before Rey was a Jedi, before she knew anything about the Force other than stories, Rey had been a mechanic. She’s some who was used to trying to put things back together, and immediately, Rey slipped into action, and she moved to the nearest power injunction, BB-8 rolling at her heels. Quickly she pries the box open, and looks at it before she grabs someone.]

We need all of the tools we can get. Can you help with that?

[Too bad Rey doesn’t know that it’s not any use.]

Calm Before the Storm 1 - Volunteering

[Llewellyn was quick to offer a helping hand when it was needed, although he couldn’t offer much where cooking was concerned. There was a reason he tended to live off of street foods or dining out.

But where he couldn’t help with cooking, he could help with setting out plates and serving up meals as people stopped in to grab something to eat at the end of either supply tent.
]

There you go— um... Enjoy?

[He commented in an awkward tone as he tried to keep track of what he was doing.

Once in a while he would turn to the other person volunteering with a curious expression, or to apologize if he bumped into them.
]

Oh— sorry about that...?

Calm Before the Storm 2 - Games

[Llewellyn wasn’t much of a story-teller, nor was he much good at entertaining in general. He did like to play games though, especially for fun as opposed to being particularly competitive (his gambling days were long over). So occasionally, during his down time, he could be found trying some of the board games or clumsily shuffling a deck of cards to play with some of the other residents that found themselves in need of something entertaining to do.]

I’ve never played that before, do you want to try? I can probably... figure it out?

[... he has a horrible poker face, so it’s an easy win, folks.]

All Hell Breaks Loose 1 - Food Rationing

[Llewellyn was hungry, which was not a strange thing exactly... He was always hungry, especially when he was stressed. The start of food rationing was unsurprising at this point, it had been too long since all this began to not need to take care of it. It would be a lie to say it didn’t throw him off more than a little though.

What was worse, was he realized he probably wasn’t the only one. There were so many people, more than he’d really thought before they all had been packed into the agricultural dome. Old, young, specific dietary needs or normal... Llewellyn was (as always) worried, and it was slowly putting him more firmly back in the mind frame of someone who had to take care of the needs of those around him.

It had started off with the people he knew directly... then bled out to others as he saw it.

Eventually, he was down to eating only when he needed to. Taking a serving during meal times, only to offer it to people who looked like they needed it. Or in a situation where he knew they might get loud, and giving up his might save on some of the fighting.

Maybe...
]

Hey— mm... would you like to share some of this?

[He offers up a larger half of his sandwich.]

All Hell Breaks Loose 2 - Ouch

[Llewellyn, as history had shown, was actually not particularly good at handling confrontations depending on the kind he was faced with. He was more the sort to talk, or attempt to after putting himself between the antagonist and the victim. Unfortunately for him, some of the factions that had developed were a little more threatening of the physical nature than being merely talk. Asking himself ‘what Murdoch would do’ was pointless at the moment, because Murdoch would either have some clever invention to defend himself, or also get a sound beating from the person he was faced with.

Sometimes, back in his own world, his height gave a suspect pause. Enough reason to take him seriously and not put up a fuss. Other times a suspect was prepared, and he almost ended up murdered (at least twice to date) himself.
]

I’m sorry, are uh— are you okay?

[He awkwardly directed at the person who’d been being harassed in the first place, handkerchief shoved to his face where he’d been socked in the nose while attempting to discourage the person that was trying to take their stuff.]

The Shit Hits the Fan - It’s cold and dark

[The lights flickering startled him, gave him pause as he found himself wondering what was going to happen next. Llewellyn was the sort to expect the worst, a glass half empty sort of outlook. It only made sense that the domes disappearing was only going to be the beginning. The fact that the agricultural dome remained was a puzzle in itself, just another thing he hadn’t been able to wrap his brain around...

He didn’t have much longer to wonder of course, as the lights started to flicker out entirely, dimming to the bare minimum. It was a stark reminder that they were, indeed, at the bottom of an ocean. Where sunlight didn’t reach, and they were quite literally trapped.

Llewellyn hadn’t really admitted this to more than perhaps one person, but he hated the darkness. It was why the winter months were his least favourite time of year, it was darker earlier and longer until the season passed. So as the cold started to settle over the dome, the detective felt a creeping, unsettling sensation crawling through his head. It brought back thoughts of times he’d rather let be forgotten.

The only thing to do now was what he always did, keep himself busy. Move around looking for people that needed help, check to make sure no one was without what they needed. It wasn’t long before he happened upon someone who wasn’t really dressed for the chill that had started to settle in the dome, or perhaps their blankets perhaps had been stolen by one of the factions.

Either way, he pulled off his suit jacket and offered it over. If there were one thing to be said for clothing where he was from. Suits were often at least a wool blend, sturdy and a little warmer.
]

Here uh— you look like you could something warmer.

[It was warm, and the pockets probably had extra insulation in the form of many almost confetti-like notes stuck in them (from his random thoughts or musings) or handkerchiefs.]

( Honestly, Eddie doesn't know a damn thing about defending himself. Sure he'd been in a rock fight with some success, but there had been a good amount of distance and anyone could fumble their way around a projectile. It doesn't prove anything, and it certainly doesn't make him feel any better. Learning something new might, though.

Hitting things with a staff certainly seems more proactive, and if nothing else it's a way to keep himself preoccupied now that the options are so severely limited. Eddie is clearly apprehensive though, and he holds the broom handle more like it's a venomous snake than a wooden staff. )

( closed to eddie, bev & stan ) they broke the walls we guarded

[Richie spends most of his time glued to the Losers, with Hopper in his arms or in her cage at all times. Outwardly, he treats this like an extended sleepover, trying to toast things that definitely weren't made to be toasted over a lighter he's pilfered from god knows where, and telling spooky stories outside their domes at night.

He does his best to fill every awkward silence with sound, and barrels past every heavy question- what if it gets worse?- like a steam train full up on coal. He puffs the anxiety out only when he is alone, hiding behind domes to sneak a cigarette.

This feels bigger than anything he knows how to deal with, so he just... doesn't deal with it.]

[Richie never stays away from his friends for long, but he's a restless kid, and sitting still doesn't suit him either. So he flits in and out of the trivia nights and movies, generally sticking around only long enough to make himself a nuisance by throwing popcorn at the screen during dramatic moments, or shouting nonsensical answers to trivia questions.

None of it's exactly mean spirited, and his answers seem more like a desperate appeal for laughter, rather than an attempt to spoil the fun.]

➢ the storm hits

( open ) we'll be the lionhearted

[Richie's on his way back from collecting rations when a fight breaks out.

It starts small, nothing but heated voices in the direction he's headed, and Richie doesn't think anything of it at first. Everyone is tense right now, and he's heard more than a few arguments over the past couple days.

But the voices get louder as Richie grows closer, and he starts to hear it to his left as well, and then a couple of folks he's just passed by call out to weigh in- and soon enough, words turn to push turn to shove, and Richie finds himself caught in the middle of a full on crowded, messy scrap, his arms full of precious rations.]

Jesus fucking christ, no one told me the agri dome had a zoo-

[He ducks to avoid being elbowed by two folks tearing at each others supplies, and some of his food spills onto the ground. The most important items are zipped in the front: some dry food he's saved (in case Stan gets faint), a few cigarettes he won't smoke, (Bev might want one) and (looking odd next to the crinkled cigarette pack) one of Eddie's inhalers.

His guitar is harder to take everywhere, so Richie hides it in his bedding, half tucked under pillows. Their camera hangs on a makeshift sling around his neck, bumping awkwardly against his chest when he walks, but the weight is sort of comforting, like the weight of Hopper curled in his elbow, or Eddie's head on his shoulder at night. Reminders they are all present. They're okay.

It's in the way now though, the camera that is, swinging wildly as Richie brandishes a knife. It's the same one he'd used to help build a sanctuary, but he holds it like it's nothing but a weapon, because that's what he needs right now. His head darts from side to side and he bounces in place, thrumming with a tight, nervous sort of energy.

The sound is what's drawn Eddie outside their dome, but there's plenty to see, too. Domes all too close to their own, only several rows away, are being swarmed and torn apart. The fighting spills out in a wide circle, with factions divided against each other and those simply caught in the crossfire doing their best to just grab their shit and get out.

It's creeping closer and closer, and as Richie turns to answer Eddie-]

Eds, it's- fuck, get your bag, I think we gotta bounce-

[-he fails to notice the faction member who is stalking rapidly towards their dome, weapon held aloft with intent.]

( Eddie's kind of an expert on anxiety at this point – it settles comfortably along his limbs like an old friend, and it's unpleasant as anything but at least it's familiar. He knows he's getting more high strung every day, more difficult to be around, but if nothing else at least he knows how to be fretful, stressed.

But he's worried about Richie.

Richie who's gone above and beyond to keep Eddie as occupied as possible, even when Eddie's being a little turd and doesn't deserve it at all. Who's worked so hard to keep Eddie from completely spinning off the edge of a cliff, even when Eddie has practically been trying to achieve the opposite. Richie's trying so hard for Eddie, and Eddie just knows that means he's left nothing for himself.

So Eddie leaves Hopper in a safe spot and creeps out after him. It's a little weird, he feels like some nasty little stalker, but it's worth it when he runs into Richie and his already-lit cigarette. Not because Eddie's happy to see the sight, far from it, but at least it's a little closer to letting Richie be the stressed out one for a bit.

Eddie can be strong for a little while. It's worth it. )

They're probably going to start rationing those soon too, y'know.

( There's no bite to his words, just soft concern, and he doesn't even let the comment about cancer risks slip out. Instead he just comes to stand next to Richie, facing the same direction and elbows close enough to bump together. )

Do you want to be by yourself? Or do you just need....a break.

[Harry wasn't the best at cooking, himself, but he could see these people, and himself too it would seem, needed help and by God he was going to give it. He might not be able to cook the food but he could sure as hell hand it out.

He just hadn't been looking in Watt's direction and they both sort of collided...in a thoroughly professional wizard way.

He clears his throat, reaching out a hand on instinct to stabilize their collision.

No problem. I didn't see you there.

Llewellyn was the sort of person who some said was a tad cursed when it came to existing in general. The man could be terribly clumsy, even on a good day. These days were less than good days, and he’d been trying his best to help out here and there where he could. Today had been a rare attempt at helping with food preparations, surely the detective could at least cut up vegetables for someone else to cook!

Apparently that was a skill that didn’t go well with a jumping attention span and a penchant for watching the world around you for trouble. Trouble found his hand instead, and he’d cut it instead of the vegetable. Which was how he’d found himself kicked out of the makeshift kitchen and outside trying to clean and wrap his hand up.

He almost missed the soft-spoken voice directed his way as Noct approached, but looked up with a curious expression a moment later. This was not a face he recognized... Oof, bad time to arrive in this place. “O-oh um... If it’s not much trouble? Having a bit of a hard time getting it sorted with one hand.” He responded with an awkward little expression.

[Llewellyn glanced up (still something he wasn’t really used to) with a grateful smile, Harry at least was a reasonable sort to work with. The wizard didn’t seem to be too quick to annoyance, at least not yet, which was definitely a plus when you were working with him. For all the detective was capable enough in many situations, he was also just as clumsy sometimes.]

I admit my attention slipped a little as well. It’s a bit hard to keep track of everything to do, let alone the shared space.

[His attention span tended to jump around a bit, especially when his brain wanted to focus on something specific like a case (or in this case, the situation in general). People, food, watching for trouble, as well as his current company? It was surprising Llewellyn hadn’t been bumping into more.]

[Before things had gone to such shit, Alex Reagan was kind of considered the welcome wagon, along with Inesa. She'd often be people's first point of contact. But given the way the older populations of the Domes had been meshed in with the new ones, there was always the possibility that he was one of those. It wouldn't surprise Alex if he was considering how bored she knows everyone is.

And it's not like Alex isn't familiar from running the news service.

So, Alex just gives him a welcoming smile, and she gestures for him to join her on the blanket that she'd set down so that they weren't sitting on bare ground.
]

Sure. I can do that. I'm Alex, by the way.

Enis had been attempting to avoid people but that was nearly impossible given the circumstances within the sphere. Everyone was packed together and every alarm in her head was echoing like a loud high pitch tone whirling in her ear.

It was annoying and she was so distracted that she didn't notice the tall regal man until the smooth deep notes of his voice cut through the whirling whine.

"Huh?" She looked up and stared at him. Blood had gathered at the corner of her eyes before spilling down her cheeks in scarlet tears. "No. I'm fine." Her features were gaunt and her pale porcelain skin looked almost sickly.

Enis felt his stare and quickly smeared the blood across her cheeks in an attempt to wipe it away.

[Alex Reagan doesn't scare easy, even when she should at least at things that aren't demons or mental hospitals. But guys being bullies? That doesn't scare her, even when the guy is so much bigger than she is. Even when she should be scared at how he's stepped into her space. When she hears a familiar voice, Alex's response is entirely relief, because the last thing that she wants is to end up in a situation where someone hurts her because she's not going to give up her bag.

And spoilers: Alex isn't.

Looking to Jon quickly, Alex just says:
]

This asshole is trying to rob me.

[The man scoffs back and speaks in a tone that is so obviously 'women am I right?']

Rob ya? Nah, the girl's just misunderstanding. I ain't trying to rob no one. She was giving it to me, weren't you doll?

No!

[Alex's voice is full of anger and disbelief.]

Hell no I wasn't.

[Rey definitely quite used to younglings like this, but she's getting better about it. There'd not been many with the resistance because it was too dangerous, and Jakku was Jakku. But here in the Sphere, Rey was getting the chance to know them, and she was glad. The smile that she gives to Eddie is soft, even if it is coupled with a shake of her head.]

No. You're holding onto it like it's going to bite you. A staff needs to be an extension of you, of your arms and your body. Are you afraid of your arms, Eddie?

[Rey just asks softly as she gently moves to adjust his grip on the middle of the staff, closing his hands where they're supposed to be and tightening them up on the wood.]

[His words make Rey sigh because of course it's one of those people who has seen the movie. (She's pretty sure almost everyone has at this point.) But just because he's seen the movie doesn't mean that he's someone who's going to not be terrible. Honestly she's trusting very few people not to be terrible right now and all the ones that she trusts are people she'd liked before hand.

It's kind of a small list.

But she just raises a brow at this man who she doesn't know and says archly:
]

If you've seen those damned movies then you know that I can do a lot more than put someone's eye out with one.

Inesa [Angel]; Open to All

[personal profile] unknownmoirai 2020-08-26 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
All Event; Singing

[There isn't much the young angel can do but... there is one thing. She doesn't realize that it's magic, all she knows for sure is that it calms those around her.

Inesa finds a seat near one of the bonfires and begins to sing her song. Her voice is sweet, musical and warm. Each note twisting through the air as those who come into hearing range feel the urge to relax and listen. The chatter around the fire quiets until it's only her voice rising through the smoke.]

How does a moment last forever?
How can a story never die?
It is love we must hold onto
Never easy, but we try

[As her song comes to an end, she smiles and looks out at the small crowd.]

Should I sing another song? I know a few sea shanties.

August 28th; Mugged & Hurt

[The attack comes as a surprise.

She screams, only to feel a hand clamped over her mouth. Rough hands tug at her belongings as Inesa kicks for her freedom. The hand slips and she gasps, calling out.]
Let me go! [Her shout is enough to stagger her attackers. There is a group of them and two look as if they're nervously glancing around to see if anyone has noticed them.]

Shit. Let's go. We got the stuff!

But she's so cute.

Come on. Someone's coming.

Hey, what's in her arms?

Is it food?

[They tug at her but Inesa curls inward, holding lancelot against her chest.]

It's a rabbit! We can eat it! Give it up girl.

[She uses her body to protect the small creature in her arms, shouting out at anyone who might hear her.]

No! You can't have him! Help! Please! Don't take Lancelot.

Wild Card;

ooc: she is helping in part 1 and that post technically includes part 2 also. I just don't want to type the same thing again. So we have a protective bunny-mama and singing. I am up for anything else. I would love hurt-comfort stuff with close CR or stuff with the GoT peeps & significant others as they huddle together for warmth and comfort.]

Enis Edrin; Open

[personal profile] blindpuppet 2020-08-26 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
August 25th; Weakened & Changes

[Enis doesn't care about clothes but now she's annoyed. Her jeans are dirty and her black tank top has been stained with spots of oil. How the color black could be stained was beyond her.

She has a few bits and odd ends that she'd grabbed from the mechanic shop before it too had vanished but she worries that it isn't enough.

It's been too long...

A soft whirling echoes within the shell of her ear and she shakes her head as if to brush away a fly. ]

Shut up! [Enis whispers and her fingers begin to tremble. She's out in the open but tucked off to the side of the dome. There is a tent nearby but it isn't clear if it's hers or not. She has her tools set out and an odd-looking gun holstered at her hip. She pulls a vial from a small protective case and winces. It isn't enough.] Fuck me. [She is oblivious to those around her, too focused on her work.

She pockets the vial and shutters, falling forward over her tools and materials. Blood dots the corner of her eyes and she struggles to breathe.

This sucks.]

August 28th; Loses her Tent

[Enis has lost all of her tools and most of her materials by thieves. She still has a backpack with a few things in it but nothing else. She can be found laying at the edge of the tents, having lost her tent to one of the forming groups. Had it been any other time, she would have fought them back but she can't.

She's too weak.

Enis tries to remember the last time she'd eaten. Her body is able to regenerate itself but it takes energy and she doesn't have anything left.

Her eyes are closed, her backpack looped beneath her arms but pushed up like a pillow. She doesn't open her eyes whenever she hears approaching footsteps, her plan is to ignore everyone until this is over or until she's dead.]

August 31st; So Cold

[It takes some convincing but Enis finally eats. She doesn't eat a lot of food but it's enough for her to sit up and function like a semi-normal human.

She shifts to get comfortable but can't. There is a twisting pain in her chest and a subtle ache spreading out through her limbs. The materials she needs to keep her body going have been nearly depleted and she's saving the last vial for the last minute. She doesn't know how long this will last and she needs to plan.

That's when the lights go out.

Her arms wrap around her chest and her breath exhales as the chill increases the tremble through her limbs. This is stupid. It sucks and there isn't anything that she can do about it. Enis keeps to herself, still tentless, but she slowly begins to gravitate towards people or places of warmth to chase away the chill that's begun to root deep within her bones.]

I hope this doesn't last much longer.
