Introducing the Boyfriend [Closed]

WHO: Inesa, Jon Snow, Seregil & possible Alec.
WHEN: Backdated - July 11th.
WHERE: Housing Dome 303
WHAT: Inesa is introducing her boyfriend to her parents -ish.
WARNINGS: None planned but will update.

Inesa was a little nervous. She didn't know how this would go... but she was excited too.

She had wanted to introduce Jon to both Seregil and Alec for some time. It'd been months since they had grown close and began to see each other romantically but there had never been a good time to bring him home to her parents. They weren't parents in a traditional sense but they were the two who looked out for her and their opinion mattered to her. She wanted them all to get along.

Alec was busy that night and might not make it to dinner but Inesa didn't want that to stop their visit. They would just visit again when he was available or maybe he would come home before she and Jon left? She wasn't sure but maybe this made it easier. It meant that Jon would be meeting them one at a time.

She smiled over at Jon and then knocked at Seregil's door.

The dress she'd chosen for the evening was a light pink with ribbons and lace decorating down its center. The sleeves hung off her shoulders but then draped down to her wrist in long silky sheets of fabric. She wore her usual brown boots with her hair loosely hanging around her shoulders. They were only coming for dinner but it was nice to dress up for it.

It's going to be a nice evening, she's sure of it.

He's dressed in what someone familiar with Westeros would recognize as Westerosi fashion, appropriate for going to another lord's keep for dinner, not for going into battle. (Sansa had made sure he has plenty of such items; apparently she's trying to civilize him and turn him into less of a soldier.) It's a black tunic trimmed in silver, on which Sansa had embroidered the Stark direwolf, and a black shirt and trousers. Simple, but it does what he needs it to.

All of Inesa's assurances haven't been able to quiet the nervousness though. He's never had to go through the process of meeting someone's family before. He bites his lip while Inesa knocks on the door.

Seregil had become a fan of jeans while he'd been here. They were strange at first, but now they seemed more comfortable than his typical breaches, so he'd decided to cobble together a mix of what he was used to, a white banyan and dark blue waistcoat, and a pair of dark blue jeans. He let his sword hooked on the wall, but easily accessible in case it was needed for use (he'd heard about this tactic of intimidation during his travels, through never had use of it before now).

When he opened the door to the two of them, it was a trove of clutter. Daggers, gems, and a million other indistinct things were tossed about the room. Pictures, mostly of Alec (Seregil had not too recently discovered photography) hung and sat in random areas. Where the living room might be was a clutter of pillows in every kind. Alec really ought to have put his foot down about Seregil's pillow habit, but he hadn't, so they'd multiplied even since Inesa had been there last.

"I assume you're Jon, the gentleman Inesa hadn't told me about." There was a bit more of a pout in the statement than there probably should have been. However, Inesa was one of the most important people to him here, the fact that she'd been seeing a man without telling him still put him a bit out of joint. In the back of his mind, he wondered if this was how Micum felt when Beka brought Nyal home.

Jon hadn't known there was family to meet, and Inesa had already known his, so he hadn't thought to ask. He'd never gone through any of this in Westeros either, as certain as he was that he'd never have a family of his own.

"Jon Snow," he introduces himself fully, relieved for once that the name means nothing to anyone beyond being something to call him. Then, with a bit of a mischievous tone sneaking in, he adds, "Ser Jon Snow."
