Arrival (2/08) - Rec Dome | Closed to Charis

Never let it be said that Loki doesn't take advantage of a situation. In the flurry of movement, the Tesseract was freed. No one saw him grab it. No one noticed he was using it until it was too late. He hadn't cared where he was escaping to. All he'd known was he couldn't allow himself to be returned to Asgard, a failure again, caged or worse for his so-called crime by the hypocrite who sat on the throne. This, though, hadn't been what he'd expected. The quicksilver bindings bit uncomfortably into his wrists as he tugged against their restraint, adjusting his grip on-

He blinked down to his empty hands, a panic rising quickly. The Tesseract. Where was it? His eyes darted around, and a muffled grunt of frustration could be heard through the metallic gag covering his lower jaw and mouth. It was apparent from the cuts and scrapes caked with dried blood across his nose and forehead he'd been in a scrape recently, and anyone who'd seen him in combat would know he didn't injure, even superficially, easily. His hair was disheveled and unkempt, even more so than usual. Outwardly, if his eyes were any indication, he was calm, looking about the ground as though ought were amiss.

Internally, though, the panic was strong. If he didn't find the box, if it were lost-he couldn't stay here, wherever here was...

Library (2/9 - ??) | OTA

Without the Tesseract as a means to leave, Loki has turned his attention to commandeering control of the Sphere in order to orchestrate its own means of travel to other dimensions. The box was lost, and with it any promise he could remain safe from the one who sought it. He had no interest in ruling a sub-oceanic prison, but he'd take it over if he needed to. That meant knowing everything there was to actually know about this place, and the residents were useless or anything other than cleaning his trousers. Some of the people trapped here even liked it. It was revolting, if not surprising.

He didn't need them anyway. Between his magic and his intelligence, he'd piece together how to make the Sphere his, at least long enough to use its talents.

So long as the mortals left him to his own devices.

Let me know if I get anything wrong here. I'm brand new. D:

No devices for you, Loki. After wandering around for a while, April noticed a person as miserable-looking as she was and hesitantly approached him. Normally she wouldn't be so daring, but this place was new to her. She had questions. Maybe someone in equal agony would have the answers.

"Hey," she muttered as she approached him. She didn't bother keeping her voice down. Library schmibary. Everyone else could suck it. ...Not like her tone of voice was very loud to begin with, but she didn't even make an effort.
ijustreallyhatepeople: (staredown)

poor April indeed </3

[personal profile] ijustreallyhatepeople 2020-02-09 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
April huffs. How dare he interrupt her? She waits impatiently until he addresses her properly. His books don't concern her.

"So, like, have you been here a while? I have questions."
ijustreallyhatepeople: (see how much this sucks?)

Oh Loki, you rascal

[personal profile] ijustreallyhatepeople 2020-02-09 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, what an asshole. April crosses her arms and wonders why she should even bother talking with this guy. Yet, she still has questions, so...

"So where are we?" She avoids eye-contact. "Gulf of Mexico or something?"
ijustreallyhatepeople: (sideglance)

I doubt April will forgive him. He's becoming one of the reasons she doesn't like socializing

[personal profile] ijustreallyhatepeople 2020-02-09 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
He's snarky.

April isn't sure whether to be offended or impressed. She wonders if she should take notes, honestly.

"Only if they involve where we are."

02|09 » Closed to Wanda

[personal profile] minus1twin 2020-02-10 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Wanda was trying her best to enjoy the sphere's festival but weird things have been happening. She hadn't figured out what exactly but something has changed, shifting uncomfortably around what she knew and what she didn't know.

Her eyes landed on Loki as he walked through the domes. He looked the same but there was a tension set in his shoulders. Either he was experiencing these oddities too or maybe the sphere was finally getting to him.

"Loki?" She walked towards him, her expression inquisitive.
minus1twin: (Ummm...)

[personal profile] minus1twin 2020-02-14 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"You look..." Her fingers brushed across her lips as she tried to find the word that fit his appearance. "Tense." That wasn't it but Wanda didn't have a word for what she was seeing in him. It was a change and institutionally she felt her magic, granted to her by the Mind Stone in the Tesseract, reach out towards him.

"Are you alright?"

Maybe she was imagining the change?
minus1twin: (Thinking)

[personal profile] minus1twin 2020-02-18 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Her lips pressed together in a tight line as she shook her head. "I don't." Loki was one of those people who Wanda liked to keep tabs on. Ultron was also on that list but living with him made that a little easier.

"Something you've misplaced? That doesn't sound like you. What is it?"

Wanda was curious as to what he was looking for.

Being an empath had it's advantages and it's clear disadvantages. One advantage was being able to tell really fast when something wasn't quite right. Then again one look at Loki gave away a huge clue that something wasn't quite right. Not that she'd never had the passing thought that maybe he could use a muzzle, but really who hadn't? This was different though. Everything about it was different.

"The hell happened to you?" Clearly he couldn't answer. The humor of that wasn't lost on her and there was a slight smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. She unsheathed one of her swords and moved towards him. "Let me get that off. Maybe. I dunno, it doesn't look too bad on you." Maybe she shouldn't be teasing him while he's like this. Sometimes a girl just can't help herself though.

It only took a quick slice from her blade to cut through the gag around his mouth and then she tilted her head and continued to smirk.

"So, how'd this happen," she said gesturing to the gag that had fallen to the ground.

"You seem to have a lot of those." A never ending amount of them actually. Though from the little they'd talked about she couldn't say he hadn't caused his fair share of it all by himself.

"Doesn't every woman?"

When in doubt, Alex Reagan is always going to throw herself into doing some research. And after going through the notes and what not that the other her had made during the course of her tenure here (a year! How the hell can anyone be here for a damned year?!) the most logical place for Alex to do that is for her to be in the library trying to figure out an exit back home and to a world where she didn't need to worry about stupid things like nightmares and what not.

So, she's got a list of books that might be helpful, and there's one that keeps being in use. Not only does it keep being in use, but it keeps being at the same table with the same person. Alex Reagan is always Alex Reagan, of course, which is why she just walks over to it finally with a bright smile, and gestures towards the leather bound tome, "is there any chance that you're done with this yet?"
11calls: Shakespeare is better than you, Richard (I can be pretentious too)

[personal profile] 11calls 2020-02-14 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Is Alex going to take that as an invitation for her to sit down? You bet. She looks more herself today and she’s balancing a legal pad on top of the books that she’s working on, and it’s basically filled with very neat handwriting complete with arrows and the like. If there’s one thing that Alex Reagan is always serious about, it’s her research. So she puts the notebook level on the table in front of her and rests her chin on her hand as she toys with her pen in the other. It’s a nervous tick, but her eyes are focused on his own.

“I’ve not exactly had a huge sort of like need for it before so I don’t know what I’d find useful or not. So I’ll take your advice. But I’m trying to find out about this multiverse theory and that book is supposed to be good for that. So maybe enlighten me then?” Because what she doesn’t say, but what’s probably clear is that Alex isn’t going away without the book or without her questions answered. One way or another, he’s stuck with her for the moment.
11calls: yeah this won't come back to bite us in our ass (Wait play that again)

[personal profile] 11calls 2020-02-19 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm Alex. Alex Reagan," it's reflexive for the words to come back with a smile even if he's dismissive of her. Because she's not offended, not really. There's too many interesting things to learn to be offended by someone being a jerk to her. "And some of it's based off of the research that... Well, the other me had done here. But she was fixated on demons, and I'm not." There may be a little bit of defensiveness in her voice about that, but Alex isn't going to take the time to unpack it. "But there's things about how often people leave, and how they arrive. If they do anything big before they end up just 'going home' if that's where they do go. And I mean it seems like they do, I guess. But there doesn't seem to be any proof of it other than anecdotal evidence."

For a moment, she just pauses, and then she flips to a different page. "You know, she was here for a year, but according to her medical data, she was still biologically the same age. Which should be impossible just from what I've read on cellular regeneration."
