Ivar's planning to squish Jack like the bug he is, so really, it's only appropriate what happens next when the bees swarm around him. There's blind panic now and he looses his grasp on the animal's instincts. They might not precisely have bees on the alien world it is from, but the instincts of the beast know what stinging insects can do. The instincts are saying to run, run, run! It's the only way to escape them.

The best place to go would be to get to water, but Ivar's mad, and the beast is territorial. To retreat now means admitting defeat and neither side is willing to do that. So instead he charges at Jack, running right int the traps he's set. The shock from the tripwires seems to barely register with the animal, possible because it's too big to be effective, or it's just too panicked and in too much pain to focus on the zaps. He charges right through them, insects still swarming.

He can't see very well with being stung, but he can smell, and the duplicate has enough of a scent that he's fooled. He takes a swipe at the duplicate with a paw bigger then the size of a cast iron skillet, intending to end this thing quickly. No more games now.
