Who: Llewellyn Watts and Rhy Maresh
When: Sometime on February 10th
What: A cute ring exchange and assorted cute fluff
Warnings: Consenting nsfw marked in the thread
Llewellyn honestly would have forgotten what today’s date was, and it’s importance in his life, had he not been given a reason to properly think about it. Remy had asked how long he’d been in this world, and after sorting through both his thoughts and then his notes, he’d realized that it was coming up...
So while the detective didn’t tend to make a big deal about specific calendar dates (indeed, he even forgot his own birthday sometimes), he made a point to keep track of this one since the reminder.
Because while in some ways it had been... a very chaotic day... it had also been the day that had set him on a course that he never would have guessed at the time.
Yes, there were drawbacks to this world. A lot that hadn’t been pleasant, things he wished he never would have seen or experienced... But then there were also a chance to learn and grow from new experiences that he might not have considered before, an eventual puppy, and friends he couldn’t imagine not having,... And on that note specifically? His friendship, and the eventual shift to something so much more with Rhy.
Which was why he’d been eager to keep track of the date after the conversation, if only so he could commemorate it in a small way.
Llewellyn wasn’t particularly sure how to go about that, but it seemed like a good opportunity to give the gift he’d been waiting to be finished for his beloved. They’d discussed rings at length, trying to decide what would be suitable for an exchange despite traditions being different between their worlds. Eventually he’d seen one that seemed to be just right for a few reasons. The gemstone, and the intricate pattern on the gold band, it even reminded him of rings he’d seen in his own world without being entirely plain.
Luckily there had been time to get it sized before he presented it to Rhy, but unluckily it also gave him a chance to get rather nervous about giving it to the man. The day had come though, and the ring was sitting in a small plain black box on his desk. The detective fussed with it, opening and closing it thoughtfully.
“What do you think, Pretzel? Do you think Rhy will like it?” He asked the pup that was currently curled up in the dog bed beside his desk. The pup yawned and shook his head, long ears flapping in the air. Whether that was a yes or a no, Llewellyn could hardly guess. It was cute though, and settled some of the anxiety that had been growing for the last couple hours.
Llewellyn finally snapped the box shut and tucked it in his pocket, “Alright... This is silly, I’m not even focusing on anything I should be. Must be a sign, hm?” He didn’t wait for an answer from Pretzel, reaching to scratch behind the pups ear before he started to get him ready for the walk back to the dome they shared with Rhy. “Can’t go worse than the flowers... I hope...” He mumbled, smiling wryly as the pup licked at his hand and hopped out of the bed.
Opening the feed, he sends a quick message to Rhy,
I’m finishing up at the office, I’m not sure if your home or not. If not, would you care to join me for the walk back?
