It was a different experience than he was used to. He was still absorbing everything that happened, along with the obvious things he needed to learn. There was a sense of pride for having worked with his hands and actually earned his own coin. People seemed to enjoy themselves and they had given back to so many who helped him before.

He's caught off guard by Eponine suddenly kissing him. She had been doing that much during the night, but much of his focus had been on their opening. Now that the evening had passed and everyone was gone, he was less restrained and kissed her back.
