"What?" Alex just instantly turns back to the stove and flips it out onto the plate without adding the toppings in her haste to make one thing that doesn't burn while cooking. While the egg survives, Alex does end up with a good chunk of it hitting the base of her thumb and she lets out a little hiss of pain.
